The difference of two numbers is always less than the sum of those two numbers

True or false
Explain your reasoning

Respuesta :

Answer: False

Here's a counter example to prove the statement to be incorrect

first number = 1

second number = -2

sum = 1 + (-2) = -1

difference = 1 - (-2) = 1 + 2 = 3

We see that the difference (3) is not smaller than the sum (-1)
