Islam was first introduced in North India and present-day Pakistan in the early eighth century by Arabs invasions. These invasions were not continuous and were very sparse. The Mughal emperor, Akbar, was responsible for creating a new religion that introduced some beliefs of Muslim tradition. But it was only with the reign of his great-grandson, a true Muslim believer, that Islamism spread in the empire.
