The Harlem Renaissance is a term that is used for the period of the early 1900's in the United States. The term itself originated from the place when it all started and based in, and the revival of the culture of the African Americans. Several African Americans started the movement in Harlem, and lot of African Americans quickly joined them.
The reason as to why the African American population found this appealing was that it was a peaceful way through which they could promote their culture, show the people that they have their own values and traits, as well as to express themselves and show the world that they too are creative and skillful. The end result of this movement was excellent, with numerous African Americans making breakthroughs on the scene, the people became more open to the African Americans, and it lead to faster and better integration and ending the segregation.
