Hinduism is the culmination of thousand years of migration, civilizations, empires and religious teachings, hence it has lots of gods to be worshipped with equal devotion.

Hinduism is an umbrella of many culture, religion and traditions. It also came into evident with Gupta age, before it Vedic rituals were prominent. Hence During Vedic time Gods like Indra, varun, Agni(fire) etc were the prominent vedic gods, which changed to tri-dev such as shiva, vishnu, and brahma during Gupta age.

Ancient India has diverse states with their own religious traditions and teachings. Gupta age made them combined into one by making their god as the incarnations of Tri-dev.

Therefore, we can say that Hinduism is different from other monotheistic faiths of the ancient religion.
