Bonaparte's reign and legacy embodied the ideals of the French Revolution and the Enlightenment in many ways, some of which include:

  • Creation of civil code which ensures citizens' legal rights;
  • His policies embrace religious tolerance;
  • Promotion of equality before the law;
  • Eradication of the feudal system, among others.

Both American and French revolutions are similar and different in many ways:

The similarities between the two revolutions are that they were influenced by enlightenment ideas, the need to achieve equality, and freedom from the monarchy.

However, they are both different in many ways as well, such as French Revolution was against their government, their own King while the American Revolution was against the colonial government from Britain.

Hence, in this case, it is concluded that Napoleon Bonaparte upheld the French revolutionary ideals while the French and American revolutions were similar and different in many ways.
