A group of local sub-populations is called a meta-population.

A meta-population could be a set of native populations within some larger space, wherever migration from one population to a different is feasible. A patch could be a continuous space with all requisites for the persistence of a neighborhood population. it's separated from alternative patches by unsuitable environment.

Meta-population is a group of people which are spatially distributed within a habitat in two or more sub-populations. Some  good examples of meta-population are populations of butterflies and coral-reef fishes. Meta-populations area  significantly helpful once discussing about species in disturbed habitats, and also the viability of their populations.
